In the first visit of a Greek foreign minister to Doha in five years, George Gerapetritis praised the mediation role of Qatar, stating that Greece has already offered its services and is a reliable interlocutor of all sides and supports in any way it can the resolution of the Middle East crisis.

He stressed the urgency of an immediate ceasefire, citing threats to Red Sea navigation.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in Doha on Saturday where he is meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and the problems caused by the disruption of safe navigation in the Red Sea.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay an official visit to Qatar on Dec. 6-7 at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar to attend the 7th meeting of the Türkiye-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee.
