Mikser Tango Festival to be held on Feb 14-16

BELGRADE - The Mikser Tango Festival will be held on February 14-16 at the Mikser House in Belgrade.

The festival events include dance and concert nights, seminars for tango instructors, presentations of tango schools, as well as side events that include a photo exhibition, video footage from world championships and a fair of tango clothes and shoes.

On Friday, February 14, a costume party titled Valentine's Day in 3014 will take place, with visitors urged by organisers to portray what a couple in love could look like in a thousand years.

The night will be rounded up by tango DJ Ana Babic and a performance by the Danza del Arte dance school, as well as an award ceremony for the best men's and women's costumes.

Also performing at the festival will be the St. George Strings chamber orchestra, Boban Bijelic and Sonja Kalajic, the Milos Krstic Quartet, the band Profesori, the Libercuatro ensemble and the Tanguango quintet.

Visitors will also be able to hear a recreation of the tango as played in Belgrade in the 1930s.
