NDS is only alternative to both government and opposition
NIS - Serbia's current government is bad and the opposition is even worse, leader of the New Democratic Party (NDS) Boris Tadic has said at the party's constitutive session in Nis, adding that the NDS is the only alternative to both sides.
The NDS expects to win the next election, Tadic stated, listing unemployment, poverty and social well-being of the people as the main problems to address.
"Thirty percent of young people face poverty as a certain future, the situation is the same with one quarter of the population, and the average salary drops by two percent every year. We want to stop that and that is why I have returned to politics," Tadic said on Sunday.
When asked why the NDS constitutive session was being held in Nis, Tadic responded that it was one of the cities that needed energy for its development, that its people had not received the help they were entitled to and that he felt he owed a special debt to Nis.
The meeting was attended by former Democratic Party (DS) members from south Serbia Ninoslav Stojadinovic, who was Serbia's ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Dragoslav Cirkovic, former head of the DS city committee in Nis, and NDS members from Projuplje, Bela Palanka, Kursumlija, Babusnica and Lebane.
