Vucic: Neither Ukrainian nor Bosnian scenario

VLADICIN HAN - Neither the Ukrainian nor Bosnian scenario will happen in Serbia as long as the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) is in power and has the trust of citizens, SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic said on Saturday.

"The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) wants to resolve issues, primarily economic ones, and political stability is necessary for that, and that is why we do not need either the Ukrainian or the Bosnian scenario," Vucic said at an election rally in Vladicin Han, southern Serbia.

I would like to say to those who are hoping for unrests that as long as I lead the SNS and have the trust of citizens, there will be no Ukrainian or Bosnian scenario in Serbia, but people will work, Vucic said.

Serbia can earn the funds needed for its survival, and reduce the loan payments in the years to come, he said, noting that now the total of EUR 1.1 billion goes for paying interest rates on an annual level.

The launched fight against crime and corruption is a prerequisite for economic development, he said, adding that after March 16, it will be hard, but huge efforts will be invested in increasing the industrial and agricultural production.

Vucic point to the statement by the late Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Pavle: "It will be better for us when we become better."

SNS Vice-President Igor Mirovic said that, after the elections, economic development will be the main task, with an emphasis on the under-developed areas, including the Pcinja district.
