President visits Serbian military cemeteries in Tunisia
TUNISIA -- President Tomislav Nikolić laid a wreath on Thursday at Tunisia's Museum of the National Memory in Sijoumi.
He was greeted thre by a guard of honor and Tunisian Minister of Defense Ghazi Jeribi.
Nikolić visited the Serbian military cemeteries in Bizerte and Menzel Bourguiba and then the mausoleum of French and Serbian soldiers nearby.
Nikolić arrived for a two-day visit to Tunisia yesterday, meeting first with the country's president, Moncef Marzouki, who welcomed the Serbian president at the airport with full state honors.
The two presidents continued their talks in the Carthage Palace, Tunisia's presidential palace, in the presence of the two countries' delegations.
Expressing satisfaction about Marzouki inviting him to come for a working and friendly visit to Tunisia, Nikolić said that there are no open issues between the two countries and good political relations should be followed by the same kind of economic cooperation.
Yesterday, Nikolić also met with Tunisian Parliament Speaker Mustafa Ben Jaafar and visited the Bardo National Museum.
