14.14 to represent Serbia at Venice Biennale of Architecture
BELGRADE - A project titled 14.14, designed by a team of authors comprised of Marko Salapura, Aleksandar Hrib, Jelena Radonjic, Srdjan Keca and Zlatko Nikolic, will be representing Serbia at the 14th International Venice Biennale of Architecture, the Museum of Applied Art said on Wednesday.
The project has been selected thanks to a clear interpretation of the topic Fundamentals, chosen by the Biennale curator Rem Koolhaas, the jury said.
Serbian entries at the Venice Biennale are traditionally selected in a competition launched by the Museum of Applied Art in collaboration with the Serbian Association of Architects.
The goal of the competition was to select a project that will best respond to the topic of the Biennale, which focuses on history - on inevitable elements of architecture as a whole and the evolution of national architectures over the past century.
The International Biennale of Architecture (Biennale Architettura 2014/Fundamentals) will be held between June 7 and November 23, involving 40 applicant countries.
The event will feature 14 exhibitions on several locations in Venice.
