"Religious buildings in Belgrade" on display at Kalemegdan

BELGRADE - An exhibition titled "Religious buildings in Belgrade- projects and accomplishments in the documents of the Historical Archives of Belgrade" will open at Kalemegdan Park on Thursday.

The exhibition is dedicated to the architectural development of sacral Belgrade.

The exhibition will comprise eight placards with 24 prints, presenting the project and photo documents that are kept in the Historical Archives of Belgrade. The exhibition will cover the period from the second half of 16th century to the beginning of World War II.

The exhibition illustrates the multicultural character of the capital, in which religious buildings belonging to various Churches- the Orthodox, Catholic, Islamic, Jewish, Evangelical, Uniate and Buddhist- stand next to each other.

The exhibition, which will run through April 20, will be declared opened by Radomir V. Popovic, dean of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) academy for arts and restoration.
