Delegation of businessmen from Spain to visit Belgrade

BELGRADE - A delegation of representatives of 17 Spanish companies will visit Belgrade on March 25-27 to look for opportunities for investment and establishment of cooperation with Serbian partners, the Spanish Embassy in Belgrade said in a release on Friday.

The companies from Spain operate in various sectors, primarily in infrastructure, energy, environmental protection, and the automotive industry, the release said.

The visit is organized by the Spanish Institute for the Promotion of Foreign Trade in collaboration with the Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Spanish Embassy in Belgrade.

Serbia is Spain’s main economic partner in the Western Balkans and the interest of Spanish companies in Serbia as a potential investment destination is constantly increasing.

Trade exchange between the two countries saw significant growth in recent years. In 2013, Spanish exports to Serbia amounted to EUR 139.7 million, while imports from Serbia totaled EUR 93.2 million.

According to the National Bank of Serbia, Spanish investment in Serbia over the last three years reached 78.3 million.
