Mrkic, Davenport discuss Serbia's EU integrations
BELGRADE - Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic conferred on Wednesday with the head of the EU delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport, who said that the EU foreign policy and security chief Catherine Ashton wishes to visit the Republic of Serbia after its new government has been formed.
Discussed at the meeting were the European integrations of the Republic of Serbia, activities in the negotiation process of Serbia's EU accession, as well as regional cooperation, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Minister Mrkic informed Davenport that he will attend the meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states with membership candidate countries in Athens on April 5.
Mrkic received invitations to the meeting from Greek Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos, whose country presides over the EU, as well as from Ashton.
