15th International Archaeological Film Review to open

BELGRADE - The 15th International Archaeological Film Review will be held at the National Museum from Thursday through April 3, featuring creations from eight countries.

This year's guest host nation is Poland, and the event will be opened with a screening of the film Island of Rulers, a scientific and poetic story about Polish history that also features elements that link it to modern-day Poland.

On the other nights, the audience will also be able to see archaeological films from Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Iran, Brazil and Serbia.

The event is organised by the National Museum in collaboration with the embassies and cultural centres of participant countries.

The National Museum has hosted the event every year since its inception in 1998, in collaboration with the organizers of the festival in Rovereto, the Archeologia Viva magazine and the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade.

The festival is not a competition and is conceived as a presentation of the latest documentary films that focus on archaeology.

Due to great interest, the films will be screened twice, premiering at 8 p.m. each day and showing again at 5 p.m. the next day.
