Serbia will never again allow to be drawn into conflicts
BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic stated on Tuesday during the meeting with Austrian politician Karl von Habsburg that Serbia will never again allow itself to be drawn into any kind of conflicts.
Nikolic conferred in Belgrade with Karl von Habsburg, the grandson of the last king of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and former MP of the European Parliament.
Nikolic said that the year of 2014, when the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War I will be marked, offers the right opportunity to say that Serbia will never again be involved in wars nor will it allow itself to be drawn into any kind of conflicts.
The Serbian president expressed the wish for Serbia to become a full member of the EU as soon as possible and to continue developing cooperation with all friendly countries as well.
Karl von Habsburg underscored that this year is important for the marking of several historical events which contributed to the establishment of peace and cooperation between the nations of Europe, and expressed the wish that tragic events such as wars would remain a part of history and never be allowed to happen again, the president's press service released.
