Vucic: I offered Socialists to join government

BELGRADE - SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday that he offered the Socialists to join the new government, where they would be represented in proportion to their strength, adding that he expects their decision regarding this offer.

"I made an offer to SPS in accordance with their strength which is significantly lower than that of SNS, but bearing in mind the need to form a Serbia of unity and not of division,” Vucic said in the session of the party's Main Board.

Vucic said that the SNS Presidency tasked him the day before to work out the solutions so the future government would have 17 members, and be small and efficient.

SNS leader said that he will present the full makeup of the government before the Main Board on April 25, when the SNS will voice its opinion on the solutions, after which the government should be formed on April 27.

"Many will be discontented, but a small government cannot have a lot of ministers from the ranks of SNS. However, your efforts can contribute to the development of Serbia," Vucic told members of the Main Board.

In the early parliamentary election on March 16, SNS won 158 out of 250 seats in the Serbian parliament.
