Red Star FC management plans settlement of outstanding debts by taking a credit and thus getting green light from UEFA

The Red Star FC shall try to find a solution to getting the UEFA license by taking a bank credit. The club shall ask the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) and the Olympic Committee of Serbia (OKS) to be guarantors in this deal, the Blic learns.

This has been a decision by the club’s Management Board after its session held on Monday. The club has no other choice because it has been faced with huge pressure from the European house of football and has to try in this way to get consent by the EUFA.

However, due to already existing debts, no bank is ready to approve a credit to the club directly. This means that the club shall have to search for guarantors. That is why the Red Star FC shall seek a guarantee from the FSS as well. The club is aware that this shall not be enough and therefore intends to seek the same favor from the OKS.

It is to be seen to what extent these two organizations shall be in position to help. One thing is sure however and that is that the club shall have to sell some of its players this summer in an attempt to settle its debts.

The Red Star FC has to react very quickly since the first payment is to arrive as early as on April 24. According to unconfirmed information the club has to pay until May the amount of 5,216,000 Euros.
