Serbia beats Russia in World League preliminaries

KRAGUJEVAC - Serbia triumphed against Russia 14-7 (3-1, 4-2, 3-3, 4-1) in the Men's Water Polo World League 2014 Europe Group A Round 6 preliminaries in Kragujevac late on Tuesday and secured their spot in the Super Final that will be played in Dubai on June 16-21.

Serbia qualified for the Super Final directly after finishing at the top of the Group A rankings with four wins and no losses in the four matches they played against Romania and Russia from November through April.

The players selected by coach Dejana Savic beat Romania in Belgrade 18-6 and in Bucharest 7-4 and Russia in Kazan 12-8 earlier.

The Group A final rankings show Serbia, defending champion, at the top with 12 points and Russia and Romania below with 3 points each.
