RTS Symphony Orchestra, Aleksandar Madzar to give concert
BELGRADE – Radio Television of Serbia's (RTS) Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Bojan Sudjic and celebrated solo pianist Aleksadar Madzar will put on a concert at the Great Hall of the Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment in Belgrade on Saturday, April 26.
Its program will include some of the most famous works by Sergei Prokofiev, such as Piano Concerto No. 1 in D flat major, Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor and Symphony No. 5 in B flat major, RTS Music Production has said in a release.
At 14 years old, Madzar was the youngest student to enroll at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. After graduation, he went on to receive special training from Arbo Valdma, a well-known Estonian pianist and music pedagogue, and then at the Strasbourg Conservatory, in Brussels and at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.
He has won prizes at piano competitions in Leeds, Geneva, Bolzano, Milan, performed across Europe and played with the most famous and most prestigious philharmonic orchestras of Europe and Asia.
Madzar is also a respected pedagogue at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Brussels and at the Music and Theater Academy in Bern.
The event will be held as part of RTS Symphony Orchestra’s regular concert season. The orchestra staged their first performance at the Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment more than seventy years ago.
