Japanese companies interested in investing in Vojvodina

NOVI SAD – President of the Serbian province of Vojvodina government Bojan Pajtic and Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Masafumi Kuroki have said in Novi Sad that Japanese company are interested in investing in the province, especially in its agro-industry.

During their meeting, the two officials confirmed the willingness to further develop the two countries' traditionally friendly relations and promote thier economic cooperation, adding that opportunities are showing for cooperation in the energy sector and the automotive, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the provincial government’s Office of Public Relations said in a release late on Tuesday.

Pajtic said that Vojvodina is an attractive destination for foreign investors as it has zones well-equipped with infrastructure and offers generous incentives to investors.

Ambassador Kuroki stressed that Japan’s cooperation with Serbia and Vojvodina has been going well, adding that there is still significant room for strengthening economic partnerships and attracting Japanese investors.

Kuroki lauded Vojvodina’s commitment to promoting Japanese culture, the release said.
