Jovicic: Name of candidate for mayor to be released Thursday
BELGRADE - The consultations concerning the future mayor of Belgrade and other members of the city administration will take place in the course of the day and the name of the candidate for the mayor will officially be made public on Thursday, caucus whip of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in the Belgrade City Assembly Aleksandar Jovicic said.
”SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic said that the identity of the future mayor will be made public on Thursday. At the same time, the government and the city administration are to be constituted and this is why we have to wait for another day to see whether the position of the Belgrade mayor would go to Sinisa Mali or Nikola Selakovic,” Jovicic told reporters in the City Assembly.
He noted that both Mali and Selakovic would make a good choice for the citizens of Belgrade as they are both very experienced and will strive to preserve all that is good in the city and to eliminate the bad so that the city may finally begin functioning to the best interests of its citizens.
Speaking about parties in the city administration, Jovicic said that consultations would be held in the course of the day between councillor groups and the City Assembly Speaker Nikola Nikodijevic, after which the final composition of the city administration would be known.
He said that SNS will demonstrate a serious and responsible attitude in terms of the city administration and other parties will have to follow the example.
