Serbian Parliament 'Complete', Govt to Be Announced Saturday
Serbia's Parliament was finally constituted Thursday.
A new session due to discuss government and ministry laws is expected to pave the way for the forming of a new cabinet later this week.
Serbian Progressive Party (SNS)'s Maja Gojkovic was elected Parliament Speaker.
On Wednesday lawmakers decided that there will be six Deputy Speakers, each one from a different parliamentary group, the country's B92 radio has reported.
Aleksandar Vucic, who is set to become Serbia's next Prime Minister, will announce the names in his cabinet on Sunday.
The new government will comprise 16 ministers, according to a draft law on government. The document suggests there will be two portfolios less in the new cabinet compared to the previous one, which had 18 ministers.
Outgoing Prime Minister Ivica Dacic's socialists are likely to take part in the government, but it is yet unclear what positions.
Early elections were held in Serbia in the beginning of April, after SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic, formerly Dacic's deputy, called a snap poll to request more power for his party and make it easier to implement a series of tough reforms he promised.
