MPs passes Law on Ministries, amendments to Law on Governmen
BELGRADE – The Serbian parliament adopted the bill on Ministries and amendments to the Law on Government on Saturday.
These two pieces of legislation the election of the new Serbian government is conditional on received 185 votes in favor and 18 against.
Serbia’s MPs will elect the next government following a keynote speech by Prime Minister-designate Aleksandar Vucic in a special parliament session tomorrow.Under the Law on Ministries, the new government has 16 ministries, two fewer than the previous one.
The next Serbian Government now has the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Ministry of Mining and Energy, Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self -Government.
Also, there is the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Policy, Ministry of Youth and Sport and Ministry of Culture and Information.
Under the new law, five offices and two directorates, on digital agenda and gender equality, are closing down.
The Ministry of Economy took over the powers and responsibilities of the Office for Sustainable Development of Underdeveloped Areas and also the work of the office for quick responses.
The Justice Ministry took over the jurisdiction of the Office of the National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self -Government acquired the role played so...
