Dacic: Important visit by Fuele

BELGRADE - Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has said that EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele's visit to Belgrade on Monday is important for the future of the accession talks between Serbia and the EU.

"This visit is important for the future of the negotiations between Serbia and the EU. Three days after the visit, in Thessaloniki, there will be a meeting of foreign ministers of EU countries and the Western Balkans, which will include Fuele and EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger," Dacic told the daily Danas.

Fuele will meet on Monday with President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, ministers Nikola Selakovic, Nebojsa Stefanovic and Jadranka Joksimovic, Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic and heads of party groups within the parliament, he stated.

Announcing his visit to Belgrade, Fuele said his arrival would come soon after the visit by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton and signified high expectations from the new government.

Real progress in the implementation of the political agreement between Belgrade and Pristina is expected for Serbia and Kosovo to progress in EU integration according to their positions, Fuele underscored.
