Saudi Arabia and UAE tourists in Serbian spas soon
BELGRADE - Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are interested in signing long-term agreements on cooperation in tourism with Serbia, Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic told Tanjug on Thursday.
"The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecomcunications will send today agreement proposals to the Saudi Arabia and the UAE institutions in charge of tourism, which will initiate the procedure of harmonization and afterwards the agreements will be signed as soon as possible," he pointed out.
According to Ljajic, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are willing to incite their people to visit Serbia in greater numbers, and they are particularly interested in Serbian health spas and mountains.
"Since those tourists have great financial means at their disposal and in view of Serbia's good offer in the said types of tourism, we expect to open up considerably towards these distant markets once the agreements with the two countries are signed," he noted.
Besides the agreements with Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the ministry is also preparing a joint document with the Croatian Ministry of Tourism that will define their common approach to attracting tourists from Asia, especially China, Japan and South Korea, Ljajic remarked.
