Macedonia offers assistance to Serbia
SKOPJE - Macedonian President Djorge Ivanov said in a telephone conversation with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic that Macedonia is willing to offer assistance and put all its capacities at Serbia's disposal in the fight against the consequences of the bad weather conditions in the country.
In the conversation with Nikolic, Ivanov expressed regret over the lives lost in the floods that hit Serbia, Macedonian news agency MIA reported on Friday.
According to a release issued by Ivanov's cabinet, the Macedonian president told Nikolic that Macedonia is willing to offer assistance and put at Serbia's disposal all its capacities for the fight against the consequences of the bad weather, states the release.
According to the release, the two presidents also agreed that regional cooperation needs to be reinforced and that coordinated action is necessary in the fight against the increasing number of natural disasters with a view to their prevention and alleviation of consequences.
