2014EP Orthodox Patriarch Daniel votes at Ienachita Vacarescu School No. 74

Romanian Orthodox Church Patriarch Daniel cast his vote in the European Parliament elections on Sunday afternoon, at 'Ienachita Vacarescu' School No. 74 in Bucharest; he blessed the election officials and the voters, and handed out small icons of the Virgin Mary.

Father Costin Spiridon, head of the Romanian Patriarchate Protocol Service, accompanied the Patriarch, who wished the attendants many happy returns and Virgin Mary's help.

According to a release of the Patriarchate's Press Bureau to AGERPRES, the Romanian Orthodox Church recommends its clergy and faithful to vote in the elections, in their capacity of European citizens.AGERPRES
