PSD National Executive Committee to convene in meeting

The National Executive Committee of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), major at rule, will convene today to analyse the results of the May 25 European elections.

PSD's Ioan Chelaru, deputy chairman of the Senate, said earlier this week that the convention of the PSD National Executive Committee will be held on May 29, starting at 13:00hrs, EEST.

'Among the topics, there will be an analysis of the party's electoral score in the European elections. That was natural, given that there were organisations of the party that worked very much and also organisations where results were poorer,' said Chelaru.

Asked whether PSD national leader Victor Ponta is likely to officially announce its candidature for this year's presidential election, after the convention of the National Executive Committee, Chelaru said it is up to Ponta to decide. AGERPRES
