Princess Margareta, Prince Radu attend opening of Romania-Jordan Congress of Medicine and Pharmacy
Princess Margareta and her husband Prince Radu attended the opening of the 5th Romania-Jordan Congress of Medicine and Pharmacy, under the high patronage of Princess Muna, mother of Abdullah II, King of Jordan; the Romanian royals paid a visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan between May 25 and 29.
According to a release of the Romanian Royal House received by AGERPRES on Friday, the Jordanian Minister of Health Ali Hiasat, the Romanian Internal Affairs Ministry State Secretary Raed Arafat, Romania's Ambassador in Amman, and a great number of Romanian professors and physicians attended the congress.
Princess Margareta — the Romanian ex-sovereign Michael's elder daughter — and Prince Radu observed a moment of remembrance at King Hussein's tomb; they also visited the Dead Sea and met representatives of the civil society and members of the Hashemite royal family.
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan celebrated its Independence Day on May 24. Pope Francis's visit to Jordan began on May 24; the Holy Father went there to pray for peace and concord at the holy sites. The heads of the Orthodox Churches of Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Finland began their visit on May 25, coming along the Jordan Valley to pray jointly for peace. AGERPRES
