Belgrade Berlin is angry at Serbia President Tomislav Nikolic because of his meeting with the Duma President Sergey Naryshkin. That shall no doubt be talked about during Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic’s visit to Germany.

This very important visit by the Serbian Prime Minister at the invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel with economy to dominate the agenda is going to have some unpleasant topics for the Serbian Prime Minister as well. A highly positioned Blic source from Chancellor Merkel’s ruling CDU-CSU coalition said for our newspaper on condition of anonymity that apart from economy, the meeting shall include ‘not at all friendly’ gesture by Serbia President who met with a top Russian official in the EU ‘black list’. According to our source another topic shall be the situation in media which as seen in Berlin is ‘unhealthy’ and which the OSCE has warned about.

- Having in mind the situation with Russia and crisis in Ukraine, the meeting of President Nikolic with Naryshkin after he has been put in the list of individuals that the EU has imposed sanction on, is considered here as a very important symbolic gesture. Nobody is expecting Serbia to strictly follow the EU foreign policy during the association and integration process, especially not to do anything contrary to its economic interests what we have understanding for, but meeting of Nikolic and Naryshkin is not a friendly message from a country that wants to join the EU – the Blic source said.
