Taci declares victory, Srpska wins 2.91 percent of vote
PRISTINA – Hasim Taci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK) won the snap parliamentary elections in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) on Sunday.
With a little more than 94 percent of the votes counted, and still incomplete results from the north of Kosovo, the DPK held 31.21 percent of the vote, the Central Election Commission (CEC) in Pristina has said.
Isa Mustafa’s Democratic League of Kosovo (DLK) won 26.13 percent of the vote, ahead of the Self-Determination movement with 13.73 percent.
Following the three are the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AFK), led by Ramus Haradinaj, collecting 9.65 percent, and Fatmir Ljimaj’s and Jakup Krasnjici’s Initiative for Kosovo, which held 5.36 percent of the vote.
According to the CEC, with no results from four municipalities in northern Kosovo, the Serb list claimed 2.91 percent of the vote.
The CEC says turnout was 43.20 percent. When it comes to the Serb municipalities, according to the Citizens list Srpska, voter turnout stood at 32.84 percent.
A total of 52,000 Serbs voted in the early parliamentary elections in KiM, and more than 15,000 of the number were votes by Serbs in northern Kosovo, Srpska leader Aleksandar Jablanovic said late on Sunday.
11,330 of these votes were cast by internally displaced persons, Jablanovic told Tanjug.
Turnout in Gracanica was 41.43 percent, in Ranilug it was 45.88 percent, in Klokot it was 51.74 percent, in Strpce it was 48.74 percent, in Novo Brdo it was 35.26 percent, in Partes it was 49.19 percent, in Kosovska Mitrovica it was 17.62 percent, in Zvecan it was 23.24 percent, in Leposavic it was 24.82 percent and in Zubin Potok it was 36.14 percent.
