Pride Week late September, Parade September 28
BELGRADE - The Pride Week will be held from September 22-29, and the Parade down the central streets of Belgrade will take place on September 28, the Pride Parade Organizing Committee stated on Wednesday.
The event was postponed in May due to a state of emergency declared in the face of severe flooding and the slogan of the September event will be "People for people: to say that we are here and how we are", reads the statement.
The Pride Week is an eight-day program comprising a series of debates and cultural events, whose goal is to ensure that the public learns more about the life and culture of the LGBT community, the statement said.
All proceeds of the program will be donated to the account of the campaign "People for People", which has been set up by the Pride Parade Organizing Committee to help those who lost their property in flooding.
The entire debate program will be dedicated to strengthening solidarity and support between the LGBT community and other vulnerable groups in Serbia, the statement said.
The 5th International Pride Forum will also be held during the week, as well as a conference that will discuss strengthening of cooperation between the LGBT community and state institutions.
