Billy Idol: I survived hell because of drug

Billy is a legend, a favorite sinner among rock stars. We talked with him about his new album, autobiography and the forthcoming gig in Belgrade.

- We are really looking forward to returning to Serbia and give you a fantastic show! I hope that the gig shall be good, even better than all previous ones. We shall play several new songs from my new album, but of course, we shall sing some of our good old hits – Billy Idol says ahead of his concert at the Kalemegdan on June 25.

 

Speaking about your album, after ten years you have decided to offer something new?

- That what we tried to do with this new album is to love. There shall be a lot of guitar sound while some songs shall be raw rock ’n’ roll. At the same time we tried to continue the sound we have been producing until so far mixing it with a little bit of modern sounds. The songs shall not be such to be liked after first listening to. Perhaps you shall like them when you hear them for the second time, but when you hear them for the third time, you shall adore them, mind my words…

 

Fee for victims of floods

Billy Idol has decided to give a part of the fee to the victims of floods in Serbia.
- That was my personal decision. When I saw the chaos going on in Serbia, I immediately decided to give a part of the fee for humanitarian purposes. This does not refer to the total fee that we are going to get as a band, but only of what I would get. That is the least I can do.

You are writing the autobiography ‘Dancing with myself’ which is expected to be publicized in October. You had a turbulent life. What shall the book be in the end...
