Bulgarians Are Sociable, But Dissatisfied with Life – EU Survey
Bulgarians are the nation least satisfied with their life throughout the European Union, a new study published by the Guardian shows.
Some 71.8% of adults in Britain rated their life satisfaction as seven out of 10 or higher in 2011 – compared with an EU-wide average of 69.3%. The score was similar to that of Germany (72.3%) and France (71.6%), but trailed well behind the most content nation, Denmark (91%).
Citizens of Bulgaria were found to be the least satisfied, with just 38.3% giving a rating of seven out of 10 or higher, according to analysis of European data by the Office for National Statistics.
The British national statistics summarized a series of polls in the European Union, the main one being to what extent the representatives of different nations communicate with their neighbors and feel close to them, Bulgarian national radio informs.
According to this indicator, the United Kingdom is at the bottom, and only Germany ranks worse. Most sociable with their neighbors are the citizens of Cyprus, while Bulgarians score high at the eighth place in terms of attachment to their local community.
