Misa Blam passes away

BELGRADE - Renowned jazz musician and composer Mihajlo Misa Blam died in Belgrade on Thursday, his family told Tanjug.

The popular double-bass player won the Nisville Festival lifetime achievement award, wrote a number of books on jazz and founded a jazz department at the music school Stankovic.

In addition to his international music career, Misa Blam was a devoted researcher of the history of jazz music among Serbs and the founder of the Jazz Museum.
