Vucic speaks to Blic about sudden visit by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair can help us join EU more quickly

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is willing to help Serbia in the process of European integration as he yesterday told the Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

Without official announcement, Blair arrived on a private plane to Belgrade yesterday. However, the news about his arrival spread quickly to media from the Nikola Tesla Airport. In a two-hour talk, the main topic between Prime Minister Vucic and his guest was European integration process.

- We had an outstanding discussion. I sought concrete help from Mr. Blair in the process of European integration and got assurances that he was willing to help the Serbian Government with his reputation and contacts – Vucic told the Blic.
Vucic presented to Blair political and economic reforms that the Serbian Government plans to carry out in the period to come.

- The former British Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over progress made by Serbia in European integration process and offered support in its further progress as well as to intentions of Belgrade to carry out necessary reforms – the press release from Vucic’s cabinet reads.

As the Prime Minister confirmed to the Blic, apart from European integration, some other concrete matters were also discussed.

- I sought concrete help and advice from Mr. Blair regarding my Cabinet, as well. It is well known that he had the best and most efficient cabinet while he was the Prime Minister, so his experience in that respect is valuable – Vucic says for the Blic.
