Danas: Blair will not be advisor to either Vucic or gov't

BELGRADE - Tony Blair, the UK's former prime minister, will not be an advisor to either the Serbian government or Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, and he will not receive any remuneration for his Thursday visit to Serbia, Belgrade-based daily Danas learnt at the prime minister's office.

As explained, Blair paid an unofficial visit to Vucic, and they discussed the EU integration and the formation of a new office of the prime minister.

After the Thursday meeting with no prior media announcement, a release said that Blair voiced his satisfaction about Serbia's advancement and gave strong support to the EU integration process and Belgrade's commitment to pushing through all the necessary reforms, “and accepted to assist in the process.”

After stepping down as prime minister, Tony Blair established Tony Blair Associates, a lobbying organization.

Asked to name the governments for which he lobbied across the world, Blair's London office replied to Danas that he had not lobbied in any country.

The daily corrected the question and asked the office which government Blair had advised, but did not receive any answer.
