Deputy PM Dragnea: China Industrial and Commercial Bank to fund Cernavoda units 3 and 4 completion

Romanian Deputy Prime Minister Liviu Dragnea announced on Monday that the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China will fund the projects agreed by the Romanian and Chinese prime ministers a year ago, with the first investments to be made in a coal-based heating plant at Rovinari and the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant's units 3 and 4.

"The Chinese side has stated the bank's very clear interest and decision to financially back the investment projects. It is about the completion of Cernavoda's reactors 3 and 4 and the other projects in the energy sector", Dragnea said after meeting the visiting president of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Huiman Yi.

Dragnea, also a Minister of Regional Development and Public Administration added the Chinese side also voiced intention to back investments in the railway infrastructure and to achieve a high-speed train.

Huiman Yi announced that a bank specialist team will visit Romania to examine the local investment market.AGERPRES
