Chamber of Deputies Chairman Valeriu Zgonea on Tuesday announced an extraordinary session of this legislative body early in July.

According to him, the agenda will include the ratification of the Association Agreement of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union; the bill for cutting the social contributions (CAS) by 5 percent for employers; and possibly the law authorizing the Government to issue orders during the Parliament's recess, if the Constitutional Court rules it is unconstitutional.

'In my opinion, the extraordinary session will be scheduled on July 2 through 3, both for the Chamber [of Deputies] and the Senate, for the CAS, the Association Agreement of the Republic of Moldova, and for a possible unconstitutional law on the Government's capacity of issuing orders throughout the summer,' said Zgonea.

He mentioned that the deadline for a report of the committee in charge of the draft project of CAS decrease submitted to the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday is June 30; in his opinion, this law should come into force on October 1.

'The prime minister said that there are reserves in the budget for the application of this law. We have calculated that by October 1 it should be signed and come into force for the citizens,' Zgonea added.

The Senate has adopted the CAS reduction law on Tuesday in a 109-o vote with one abstention; the Chamber of Deputies is now the deciding body in this matter. AGERPRES
