Japanese modern film festival opens on Thursday

BELGRADE - A Japanese modern film festival will be held at the Museum of Yugoslav Film Archive in Belgrade on June 26 to 30, the Embassy of Japan in Serbia said in a release.

The festival will present some of the best known modern Japanese cinema releases.

Film 'Blue Spring' (Aoi haru) will be displayed on the first festival night, while 'The Laughing Frog' (Warau kaeru) will be screened on Friday.

On Saturday, June 28, the festival programme includes two films: 'Fourteen' (Ju-yon-sai) will be on display as of 6 p.m., while 'Pacchigi! Love and Peace' will be featured at 8 p.m.

On Sunday, two films will be screened at the same time, the first being 'Dogs & Cats' (Inuneko) and the second 'Another Battle - Conspiracy' (Shin jingi naki tatakai/Bousatsu).

The Japanese modern film festival will end on Monday, June 30, by the screening of 'The Matsugane Potshot Affair' (Matsugane ransha jiken) at 6 p.m. and 'Toukou Ne Ki' at 8 p.m.

The admission will be free on the opening day, and for other screenings, ticket price is RSD 200.
