Tennis: Irina Begu through to 2nd round of Wimbledon

Romanian tennis player Irina Begu qualified to the second round of Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament, after defeating French Virginie Razzano 1-6, 6-4, 7-5 in 2 hours and 15 minutes in the opening round.

For her performance so far, Begu won 43,000 British pounds and 70 WTA points.

This is the best career result of Irina Begu, who managed for the first time to advance to the second round of Wimbledon, playing for the fourth time at this tournament.

Begu will next play German Andrea Petkovic, WTA No. 20, who advanced with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Katarzyna Piter (Poland). AGERPRES
