Chinese ambassador gives farewell reception

BELGRADE - Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Zhang Wanxue gave a reception on Thursday on the occasion of completion of his three-year mandate in Serbia and expressed belief that the relations between Serbia and China will develop even further to the benefit of the two peoples.

Zhang said addressing the guests that over the last three years, which he spent in Serbia, the Chinese-Serbian relations have recoded an accelerated development.

The two countries have an intensive exchange at a high level, while mutual political trust is constantly fortified and strengthened, he said.

Moreover, he said that the cooperation on major projects in the spheres of infrastructure, energy and others have made new progress.

I had the tremendous honor to witness the development of the Chinese-Serbian relations and give my contribution, Zhang said.

He thanked Serbian leaders and friends from different spheres who appreciate and advance the development of the Serbian-Chinese relations and wished Serbia prosperity and development.

Ambassador Zhang expressed satisfaction in a statement for Tanjug that he has spent the previous three years in such a friendly country as Serbia.

We are very happy to see the positive and dynamic changes in the relations between Serbia and China, particularly when it comes to joint projects such as construction on the bridge on the Danube River and reconstruction of the Kostolac thermo power plant.

China attaches great importance to the relations with Serbia which, as he put it, is proved by the declaration on strengthening of the strategic partnership signed during Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic's visit to China last year.
