Code yellow rain, storms advisory throughout Tuesday night in most of the regions

The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) issued on Monday a Code yellow rains and storms advisory valid June 30, 20:00hrs., EEST - July 1st, 21:00hrs., EEST in regions of Oltenia, Banat, Crisana, Maramures, most of Transylvania and northwestern Muntenia.

According to meteorologists, from June 30, 20:00hrs. EEST — July 1st, 09:00hrs. EEST, the atmospheric instability will be stronger in Oltenia, Banat, Crisana, Maramures, most of Transylvania and northwestern Muntenia.

In 21 counties of the said areas showers with torrential character, electrical discharges, intensifications of wind to storm and on small areas hail will occur. Downpours could exceed locally 20 liters/sqm and isolated 40-50 liters/sqm.

Likewise, on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. EEST to 21:00 EEST, will be intervals with accentuated atmospheric instability in 18 counties of the northern, northeastern and locally central Romania, with torrential rain, electrical discharges, short-term intensification of wind and isolated hail.

Downpours could exceed locally 15-20 liters/sqm and isolated 40 liters/sqm.

Meteorologists also say that similar events could be possible in the southeast, yet on restricted areas.AGERPRES
