Dacic: Stop use of force, start negotiations on Ukraine
BELGRADE – The Serbian Foreign Ministry is following the situation in Ukraine with close attention and great concern and calls for stopping the use of force and starting a negotiation process in Ukraine, Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said Sunday.
Dacic welcomed the peace efforts of the foreign ministers of France, Germany, Ukraine and Russia, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in a release.
“The experience of our country tells us that dialogue has no alternative, and Russian President Putin’s publicly expressed readiness for finding a peaceful and sustainable solution could greatly help the efforts,” said Dacic.
As next chair country of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Republic of Serbia will contribute to calming the situation by sending its representatives to the OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine, Dacic said.
