Galatasaray ready to sign Prandelli

Cesare Prandelli will sign a twoyear contract with Galatasaray.

Italian coach Cesare Prandelli is set to officially sign a contract with Galatasaray today.

The 56-year-old arrived in Istanbul on club chairman Ünal Aysal’s private jet and is set to sign the two-year deal at the Türk Telekom Arena, the club’s stadium, at 2 p.m. Prandelli will receive 1.75 million euros plus bonuses per year, according to the Turkish media.

Mancini’s successor

Galatasaray has been searching for a new coach since last month’s departure of Roberto Mancini, whose contract was mutually ended after he fell out with the board over the low transfer budget. Mancini led the Lions to victory in the Turkish Cup and to second in the Süper Lig, in addition to advancing to the second round in the Champions League.

Prandelli recently ended his spell with the Italian national team after a disappointing first round exit from the World Cup in Brazil. The former Fiorentina and Parma coach, however, masterminded Italy to a runner-up finish in the 2012 European Championship.
