President Basescu: Support for European path of R. Moldova a foreign policy priority

Romania holds support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova as its priority in foreign policy, said President Traian Basescu during discussions with Hans-Gert Pottering, Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

According to a release issued by the Presidential Administration, the head of state has received on Wednesday the visit of Hans-Gert Pottering, Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, together with a delegation of Christian Democrat Union members from the German Bundestag.

"During the discussions, President Traian Basescu has reaffirmed that Romania holds support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova as its priority in foreign policy", the release shows.

During the meeting, the security situation in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed upon the Russian Federation by the European Union were discussed, as well as other topics. AGERPRES
