Tennis: Roberta Vinci qualifies to BRD Bucharest Open final

Second seed Roberta Vinci (Italy) advanced to the final of the BRD Bucharest Open WTA tour by defeating 6-1, 6-3 Kristina Kucova (Slovakia) on Saturday, at the National Bank Arenas of Bucharest.

Vinci (31 y.o., WTA No. 24) has won so far 9 WTA titles. She will face in the Sunday final the winner of the semifinal opposing first seed Simona Halep to Monica Niculescu, scheduled at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

This is Vinci's first singles final this year; she won her last WTA title last year in Palermo, and the Wimbledon doubles this year alongside fellow Italian Sara Errani.

The qualification to the final in Bucharest comes with a 21,400-dollar cheque and 180 WTA points. AGERPRES
