Davenport: Committee has key role in European integration

BELGRADE - Head of the EU Delegation in Serbia Michael Davenport conferred on Friday with the Chair of the Serbian parliament European Integration Committee Aleksandar Senic concerning the enhancement of control and supervisory role of the parliament.

We discussed the ways for the Committee members to cooperate with the Delegation of the European Commission in a more efficient and accelerated way, Davenport told reporters in the Serbian parliament.

Chair of the Serbian parliament European Integration Committee Aleksandar Senic told reporters that his talks with Davenport on Friday also covered the EU assistance in the repair of the damages caused by the floods and the cooperation with the European Commission Delegation with a view to improving the supervisory and control role of the parliament.

We want to inform new MPs about the functioning of the European Commission Delegation and IPA funds and make it possible for them to visit parliaments in various countries, Senic said.
