Lajovic ousted in Hamburg ATP quarterfinal

HAMBURG - Serbian tennis player Dusan Lajovic failed to qualify for the Hamburg ATP semifinal as he was defeated in the Friday match by Argentina's Leonardo Mayer, 6-1, 7-5.

From the very beginning, Mayer dictated the tempo of the match, managed to score 5-0 and easily won the first set.

In the continuation of the match, Lajovic showed a much better game but his opponent scored a tiebreak, won the second set and qualified for the semifinal.

In the fight for the final, the Argentinian player will cross rackets with the winner of the match between Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany and Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic.

The prize fund of the Hamburg ATP totals EUR 1.3 million.
