Public-Private Partnership Commission of Serbia,France meets

BELGRADE - Representatives of the Public-Private Partnership Commission of Serbia and France staged a meeting in Belgrade on Monday, as a continuation of meetings between Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and his French counterpart Manuel Valls which were held several weeks ago concerning the development and promotion of public-private partnerships and concessions.

As Head of the Public Procurement and PPP Department of the French International Technical Assistance Agency at the Ministry of Finance of France, Jean-Philippe Nadal said after the meeting that the talks with Serbia's representatives have been successfully completed and that all Serbia's needs in the area have been carefully examined.

We discussed matters of capacity increase and added expert support to projects with a view to setting up closer cooperation, Nadal said.

President of the Serbian government Public-Private Partnership Commission Dragan Stefanovic said that the meeting represents the continuation of talks between the Serbian prime minister and his French counterpart which took place several weeks ago.

The model of public-private partnership is still in its early stages in Serbia and it is based on the law adopted in late 2011, unlike in France where the model has been successfully implemented for 200 years now, Stefanovic said.

He added that Serbia needs to learn more about the experiences of France, and underscored that the meeting concluded with the assessment that the Serbian legislations in the area are compatible to those in France.
