ROMANIANS AT MONGOL RALLY: Romania's two teams at Mongol Rally meet in Prague

Romania's two teams that have left the country to embark on the Mongol Rally adventure - Dracula Khan and Mamaliga (Polenta) Warriors- on Tuesday evening reunited in Klenova, the Czech Republic, at a party extended before the second start in the world's largest charity rally.

The Mongol Rally is for adventurists who want to travel from London to Ulan Bator or from Prague to Ulan Bator in an as old and as funny a car as possible with an engine capacity smaller than or equal to 1,000 cubic centimetres. The journey has only two fixed points: the start and the finish lines. The participants choose their route to Mongolia. There are hundreds of participants in this charity rally supporting the cause of organisers, namely saving the rain forests via the Cool Earth organisation, and a local cause of their own choice. The Moldovans of Team Mamaliga Warriors will be raising funds for two needy families of Romania and Moldova, while Team Dracula Khan is supporting the Caritas Association of Bucharest.

Team Mamaliga Warriors decided to take the start for the Mongol Rally on Sunday in London, while Team Dracula Khan opted for a start from Prague. The official start in Prague was proceeded by a party in Klenova.

After the official start, Marian Boanca of Dracula Khan returns to Romania, where his team will leave for Ulan Bator. Team Dracula Khan has six members — three for the going, from Prague to Ulan Bator, and three for the coming.
