Williamson: Investigation outcomes not to be prejudged
BELGRADE - Clint Williamson, lead prosecutor for the EU Special Investigative Task Force (SITF) for the investigation into the allegations regarding human organ trafficking during the conflict in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) in 1999, informed Serbian senior officials of the next steps in the investigation and underlined that the findings will be revealed at an appropriate time, stressing that no specific outcomes should be prejudged.
Williamson arrived in Belgrade on Tuesday for meetings with Serbian senior officials and representatives of the international community, in advance of an announcement of investigative findings, the SITF released on its website.
The lead prosecutor met with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic, as well as representatives from the diplomatic community and non-governmental organizations.
Williamson thanked his interlocutors for their ongoing cooperation with the criminal investigation carried out by the SITF and informed them of the next steps.
“He did not provide specific details regarding the findings, and underlined these would be revealed at an appropriate time,” the release states.
Williamson noted that he is aware of the mounting speculation about the findings of the SITF, but he underlined that “no information related to the findings of the investigation will be released until an announcement is made, and no specific outcomes should be prejudged,” states the SITF release.
