Screening for chapter on free movement of goods in September

BELGRADE - A screening for chapter 1 on the free movement of goods within Serbia's EU accession talks will be done in Brussels in the first half of September, Tanjug learnt at the EU Integration Office.

The last screening before a summer recess was held in Brussels on July 15, and dealt with chapter 31-foreign, security and defense policy.

Several days before that, on July 11, the screening for chapter 10 (information society and media) took place.

The free movement of goods envisages that all products have to be traded freely across the EU, and because this is one of the fundamental principles of the European Union, this chapter is vital for the EU integration process.

The single market helps remove obstacles, create jobs, and enhance the overall prosperity of the EU, reads a release on the Office's website.
