Bohnet: Time for results
BELGRADE - Director of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Belgrade Henri Bohnet qualified as encouraging the fact that the Serbian government has understood the need for reforms of important laws such as the Labour Law and is aware that there is no time to waste.
According to Bohnet, Serbian citizens also proved that they are ready for reforms and understand the need for social changes in order to achieve progress.
The government now needs to use the will and support to launch reforms and finally produce results, Bohnet told Tanjug to mark the 100 days of the constitution of incumbent government.
He said that the government had a particularly difficult start of the mandate and that it took a while to launch reforms.
Bohnet also noted that reforms announced by the government are truly major and problems are complex which is why, under the given circumstances, the opposition and other factors of civil society need to be included in the process.
He said that this is the reason why he believes all planned reforms need to be discussed for as long as it takes both in the parliament and in the public, so that all opinions may be heard in order to find the best possible responses to all problems Serbia is facing.
